Spokane PeeWee Jr. Chiefs
The Spokane Jr. Chiefs PeeWee AA team competes in the West Kootenay League with Nelson, Trail, Beaver Valley and Castlegar. The Jr. Chiefs have also played teams from Alberta, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and California this year.
To date, the Jr. Chiefs are 21-3-1. The team is comprised of fourteen 1997 birth year players and six 1998 birth year players. Three of the team members played on the PeeWee AA team in 2008. That team went on to win the PNAHA Washington State tournament. The team is coached by Travis Knoles and Dan Holden. Both coaches played for the Junior A Spokane Chiefs with Vernon resident, Brent Gilchrist.
The overall philosophy and goal of the team is centered on team work, work ethic, sportsmanship, skill development and fun. The Jr. Chiefs players are expected to represent the City of Spokane in a positive light both on and off the ice.
